Hidden rooms, suicides, and ladies of the night, are only the fabric of the make up that we know about this former Coaching Inn. Join us as we delve deeper into it's past, as we investigate the strange noises and disembodied voices of patrons from a time long since gone. The White Hart Hotel is a huge four storey building steeped in history and as far as we know there has been a building on this very site that dates back to as far as the 10th century.
The entrance lobby was once used as an entrance to the stables where the coach and horses would be then changed before they carried on their way, whilst the travellers would visit this old coaching inn for a stopover. An apparition of old woman has been seen on many occasions in this area.
Whilst we were visiting the location two of our team members could not believe it when they heard loud thudding sounds coming from an empty reception area, with the help of the hotel staff they tried every way to debunk or fathom out this but found no explanation, to the bizarre noises they had heard.
We then moved into the large function room where the informed us has been a hive of activity in the past. Room 40 is a very luxurious large room with an impressive bay window where the ladies of the night would sit and attract the attention of passers by in the street. The ladies of the night are a regular sighting to this day still sitting in the bay window.
Room 19 houses the spirit of a rather strict old gentleman who does not like woman entering his room. He tends to leave a scent of cigar smoke to alert visitors when he is around. Room 23 harbours a secret past as when the rooms were being refurbished the builders discovered a secret room which had been bricked up, when they knocked down the adjoining wall they discovered a study like room complete with desk and typewriter as though set up as a museum display. Why was this room bricked up like that? Nobody knows the reason so join the Simply Ghost nights team as we hold a paranormal investigation to unearth some of the ghostly activity that allegedly goes on her. If you dare!
