A paranormal activity at The Plough, Doncaster

The Plough was an exclusive event to Simply Ghost Nights and it did not disappoint on this Monday night event. The recent reports we had been given was that the bar area was a hive of activity, so we focused our infra red detectors in this area and too our amazement they were set off on numerous occasions. It was in the bar that all the groups reported the most aggressive table tipping and glass work.

Also in the bar area both Stuart and Emma heard a growl very clearly and a group heard the distinct sound of footsteps and when they turned around to see who was there, no one was there.
In the attic there was reports of a large number of ghost hunters feeling literally quite sick at once, at they all felt the urge to leave the attic as they couldn’t stand the feelings of fear and dread anymore. Marie said she felt as though she was been watched and Brenda, Shelly said they also had these feelings too.

In the dining area we locked the room down and set up our infra red motion cameras, and whilst holding a séance we witnessed on the monitor the movement of some very large orbs that kept the group fascinated and entertained by their movement .
All in all it was somewhat of an experience at The plough and who knows if shall return their again. The team now look forward to the Sheffield & Fire Police Museum with TV’s Chris Conway on the 28th of May.

A Paranormal Investigation with TV’S Chris Conway, at The Sheffield Fire & Police Museum

Simply Ghost Nights return to familiar terriortry of The Sheffield Fire & Police Museum on the 28th of May with TV’s Chris Conway, on our last visit to this venue, we were staggered by the amount of paranormal activity we witnessed. In one vigil a group of ghost hunters were using a Frank
Two ghost hunters saw what they thought was an apparition at the bottom of the stairs, on further inspection they found no one was there, so join us as we search for ghostly capers at Sheffield’s most reputedly haunted building.

s box, when they asked for the scanner to stop on 999, as they felt it appropriate considering their surroundings. The spirits of this building that is said to be rich in spectral shenanigans duly obliged, (a photo of the Franks box displaying 999 is on the photo gallery of the Simply Ghost Nights web site), not only once but twice this occurred to our startled and stunned ghost hunters.

Ghost Hunting at Newcastle Keep, with Simply Ghost Nights.

Where do we start about Newcastle Keep, the whole night shocked the Simply Ghost Nights team on this paranormal investigation. It was an event that nightmares and films are made of, we experienced it all at Newcastle Keep, the good, the bad and the downright demonic, from table tipping, glass divination, amazing K2 spikes, and most frighteningly even some of our solid team members getting channelled. The Castle dominates much of the sky line as you approach up the hill, you look in awe at the workmanship and labour it would have took to have built the castle many years ago, however we would soon find out what hid below the veneered beauty of this building and what was waiting for us from the other side to greet us with a sinister side that would turn an event upside down and shock even the most hardened ghost hunter.

We were greeted by Paul who was our host for the night at Newcastle keep and an excellent host he was too, and he allowed us to view Newcastle from the turrets of the castle where we could see the city sprawling away in all directions of the compass, as we all took in the wonderful views of the city life at night it was time to start the ghost hunt event.

After a drink and a light refreshment break it was time to begin our journey into the unknown and leave the sanctuary of our world, and investigate the paranormal world of Newcastle Keep and see exactly what would a wait the Simply Ghost Nights team and our brave ghost hunters, we would soon find out. In the garrison room we were treated to some amazing table tipping by the spirit of a soldier, however what unfolded later in the Chapel not only shocked us but brought to the fore the power and the sinister side of the spirit world.

In the chapel we were investigating, one group of ghost hunters were around the séance table calling out, and some more were attempting communication with the K2s and achieving some very good results especially when they were playing a Latin chant. But all this paled in insignificance when Mark our paranormal investigator was found in the corner of the room in the chapel rocking to and fro as if from a scene from a movie, when asked how he was, Mark replied " I need to smash the table up, I feel so angry" for anyone who knows Mark this is totally out of character. After a chat Mark came around and confessed to have had little control over his emotions.

Then Mel one of the teams mediums announced that she felt immense anger towards Stuart and wanted to hit him, (these feelings are not uncommon towards Stuart allegedly), again after a quick chat Mel returned back to her bubbly self and stated how the feelings had suddenly came. At this point the K2s were literally going crazy with activity, and the torches were turning themselves on and off on request and there was a feeling of dread in the room that we all felt.
Meanwhile on the séance table Rosey, Shelly, Paul, Ann, Clare and Melanie were making contact through glass divination with an alleged murderer, then all of a sudden behind them a chair moved slightly with no one in it, Paul suggested that this was indeed the murders favourite chair and that nobody could sit in it, the glass moved to yes. Philip our intrepid paranormal investigator bravely sat in the chair as during the séance the group were warned that this murderous spirit would harm anyone who sat in his chair. Alas Philip sat in the chair, with everyone else preoccupied with the séance and the K2 investigations it was good ten minutes until Rosey noticed Philip slumped in the chair bent over doubled up. The group called out to Philip as he sat up his eye’s glazed and Philip started to mumble incoherently at first until he said shaking "I'm going to cry" as we lead Philip away from the table and out of the chapel. As we spoke and reassured Philip he said he didn’t know what had come over him. It was as though this darkened entity had attempted to divide and conquer the Simply Ghost nights team and failed.

After a break and a review of the chapel investigation we agreed this was probably the most threatened the team had felt for a long time from the world of spirit. As we finished our glorious buffet it was time to carry on the investigations. One group had table tipping and glass divination in the King's chamber the spirit of a knight made his presence known, and a grey mist was seen to rise from the floor in this room too as well as dark shadow was noticeable from the toilet room inside the King's chamber.

As the time flew by yet again it was time to call it a wrap and the nights proceedings to a close, we knew we had been in a huge battle with the ghostly spectre of a frightening and dark nature, and won the battle for the greatness of good and god and as we left Newcastle Keep we vowed to return later in the year, to face our demons yet again.

Ghost Hunting at The Manor House Hotel, West Auckland, Count Durham, with Simply Ghost Nights

As the team enjoyed the delights of this 3* hotel prior to the nights paranormal activity commencing, none of us could anticipate what would happen when the spirit world would come out to play later that evening. The Manor House Hotel is truly a quintessential old hall, with a chequered history to say the least, with numerous sightings of figures dressed in clothing from a time long gone, monks are said to haunt the hotel and spectral children are also seen on a regular basis by staff and hotel guests a like.
The team had experienced numerous paranormal events on our previous visit to this location and were so excited to return. After a brief chat with our ghost hunters, we attempted spirit communication in a group vigil in the Knights hall. First time ghost hunter Michael was literally shaking in his boots as we called out for any sign of spirit activity, Michael screamed as he first heard one significant tap and then two more louder taps on the table.

After some K2 spikes Shelly exclaimed that she could see the fleeting footwork of some ghostly shadows in the corner of the room, Michael now stated that he would sit in the corner where the shadow movement had now been seen by more ghost hunters. Michael gamely took his seat and sat where the shadows had been seen, after a few minutes Michael screamed again, as he swore something had grabbed his neck, he ran quickly to the group swearing that he would not return to the corner by himself.

As Stuart and Jan walked in the knights room, they heard the noticeable sound of footsteps behind them on the wooden dance floor, as they spun around in unison half expecting someone to be behind them, they realised no one was there they were alone in the room by themselves, and however they tried to recreate the footsteps they couldn’t. Were these the footsteps of the lady who haunts the Knights hall, or the spirit of some former Knight , we then attempted a table tipping experiment where eventually tipped so alarmingly that Sarah stood in disbelief as she stared at the table.

We then moved onto the Eden room where the activity was less intense as it had been in the Knights room, however we were stunned when the glass divination experiment brought forward a woman from the other side, who only communicated briefly with our courageous ghost hunters.
As we broke for a drink and a lavish buffet our ghost hunters exchanged their experiences of the night so far, we then moved onto the dining area where we experienced some strange scratching and tapping that we could not account for, or explain, as Rosey always states, “once you can explain the unexplainable then it all becomes boring.”

Another vigil in the Eden room reported some aggressive table tipping and in the Knights room another vigil witnessed a burst of light phenomena inside the Knights room, about eight feet away from them, this episode delighted and staggered the group that saw it.

As the night drew to a close we all said our goodbyes to our intrepid ghost hunters and to the spirit world too, we agreed that The Manor House Hotel was abound with paranormal activity and it had been well worth the journey. However our thoughts turned to our next ghost hunting event the following night at Newcastle Keep, and who or what awaited us there.

Today

Kettle on loads of work to do planning for our ghost hunting event this Friday the 13th.

Ghost Hunting at Newcatle Keep, Simply Ghost Nights Await Their Return.

Dare you visit this haunted old castle and take part in a ghost hunt, investigate the cause of the eerie voices and ghostly footsteps that have been heard echoing through the corridors. The laughter of children in the corridors and the sobbing of a woman have been heard as well. The feeling of dread and sorrow is felt by many as they walk around the castle, and icy unseen cold hands are said to touch many an unsuspecting ghost hunter.

One of the ghost stories was reported quite recently from a man who was visiting. He was ascending a flight of stone stairs near the mezzanine chamber, when he physically bumped into someone on the stairs. Turning back to apologize, he realized no one was there... as you can imagine he left the building immediately!
The great hall has such an atmosphere, many people have claimed to have seen a teenage girl in pre-Victorian probably Edwardian - style of dress moving quickly around the room. Also, in the Galleries that overlook the Great Hall, eye-witnessed have seen a woman in her mid-twenties, with Elizabethan dress and even heard the rustling of her gown.

On our last visit here we were treated to the most aggressive table tipping display we had witnessed by the unseen hands of the spirit world.
It's often reported that the Mezzanine Chamber is the most terrifying room in the building. People complain of oppressive nausea and ghostly whispers. The Mezzanine Chamber was in fact a holding cell for people to be taken away an executed, so it's hardly surprising that this phenomena is reported, given the amount of emotional torment that's taken place within the room.

Lets hope Castle Keep lives up to its newly found reputation as being very haunted.

The Ghostly Light Phenomena at The Manor House Hotel, West Auckland, County Durham

As we turned the lights off in the dining room to commence our séance, in this 17th century Manor House that was now converted into a hotel.
The customers were all holding hands in a circle, with bated breath I called out " Is anyone there". The group of all women were all very uneasy, smiling innately at each other in the subdued torch light.
"Show yourself as a light I called out" hoping for some light phenomena, "light up the chandelier" I asked, the chandelier hung from the ceiling like a huge stalactite. Then "Wow" we all shouted as the chandelier lit up like a candle for only a couple of seconds. There was no light entering the room at all, and no torch light could have made that whatsoever.
As a group they loved the light phenomena that the spirits of this old Manor house had provided that night. We sample this kind of activity with my company simplyghostnights on most occasions, and we still find it amaz
