My heart goes out to all those who are in desperate situations, grieving and missing people at this moment in time around the world. What with the events of late that have besieged parts of the world, it brings home the truth that how our whole existence can change in the flickering of an eyelid.
In a matter of a few weeks, the world as changed irrevocably, the natural disasters in New Zealand, and Japan show how fragile a place we live in, the nuclear disaster that may happen in Japan shows how in such a short time, the whole world can turned around in. Also the changing political scene in the oil rich middle eastern region. The intervening actions from the west against Libya's Colonel Gaddafi.
What does the recent occurrences show us, they show us that more than anything the fragility, and basically our own lives can be altered either by natural forces or some freak chain of events.
However through adversity, and desperation, when our backs are against the wall, the odds stacked against us in terrible situations, our basic instinct of survival kicks in, and that's why in 2-3 years the disaster in Japan will have been overcome, not forgotten or erased from the memory, but with overseas aid the Japanese will have re-built most of the disaster zones, against all odds they will move forward as nation and rebuild their shattered lives.
